Rebbena mandal
Gangapur Temple

Sri Balaji Venkateshwara Swamy Devasthanam at Gangapur village in Rebbena mandal is prepared each year for a three-day jathara. The temple is believed to have been built in the 13th century on the bank of a rivulet, about five kilometres from the mandal centre. Devotees visit on the full-moon day of Magha.
Local tradition says Mummadi Pothaji, a devotee of Venkateswara, could not travel to Tirumala one year. The lord appeared in a dream and asked him to open a hillock. Pothaji found an idol after opening the rock with a crowbar. Later, Kakatiya rulers are said to have installed a Padmavati idol and built a temple tank in the 16th century. The tank has disappeared, and the crowbar is still pointed out on the shrine.
